WIP Wednesday – Mandala Madness CAL

Happy Wednesday! 

Yes, you read the title right! I’ve taken back my mandala madness! I am starting step 4 (I have done 2 row in red already) and I’m hoping to grow it more in the next few months. 

I’m using scraps for this, so the colours are a bit random but I really like it so far. I have lots of blues and greys left over so it will likely grow in those colours in the next few rounds 🙂 I’m really looking forward to blocking this at the end, as I think it will really bring all the details out.

Slowly but surely, the mandala is growing!  
I absolutely love how the circles are done on 2 rows. And how pretty is the ruffle stitch? 

 Can’t wait to see what week 4 brings 🙂

Mandala madness – week 2

Hi guys! 

Here is my week 2 of the mandala madness CAL. You can find all the Pdf for the Mandala madness in several languages on Helen’s website so why not join? (I know I’m still 2 weeks behind but I’ll get there, promise!)    

I had a bit of trouble at the beginning of this week, because I got the instructions wrong from last week so my back post sc were in fact front post sc, which made it difficult. Whoops! I think I managed to correct my mistake pretty well in the end. 

I loved how this week turned out, the star behind the first week’s flower just looks great 🙂 also I really like the folded stitch used in this CAL, it’s just so cool to have this 3D effect on an apparently 2D piece.

Mandala madness CAL – week 1

Happy Monday crafty people! 

I thought I didn’t have enough to do with the LOTR CAL so I decided to join the Mandala Madness, designed by the very talented Helen. 

I’m using yarn from my stash and I’ve only completed part 1 so far (weeks 2 and 3 are already out, I need to get to it!). If you feel like you need help, Esther has a really good video tutorial on her blog, it’s all in a nutshell.   

Also I wanted to share my orchids with you guys, they are so pretty at the moment, all flowery!
