Hello lovely readers!
I have finally completed my robes for Hogwarts, and just in time as well for my visit of the Warner Bros. studios on Monday. I really could not be more excited!
Forgive me for the poor quality of the pictures, I have been struggling with finding enough light.
Since last time, a few adjustments were made. I have added, of course, the crest but also a button and elastic band to keep the robes closed. I have also finished binding the sleeves properly and I have finished sewing the blue lining in place.
I’m very happy with how the crest turned out, the back stitching just makes a huge difference. To attach it, I used fabric glue to hold it in place and then whipped stitched all the border. It seems pretty solid but I guess only time will tell!
I hope you had a great week!
Happy Wednesday readers!
I have finally finished the body of the crochet jumper. I’ve had some issues to get there, somehow I managed to decrease the number of stitches and it felt really tight. I was already pretty far gone so I frogged a bunch of it but not all and I’m actually pretty happy with it, as it is body hugging but not too tight.
I still need to do the sleeves, and then to finish the trims with my contrast colour. Good thing I still have 30 hours of plane to finish it! Wish me luck 🙂
You may have noticed that I have been a bit more quiet those past few weeks, maybe I haven’t replied to messages, liked you posts or commented on all the lovely things you post on your blogs. You see, I have been very busy during this time: I finally got to go on honey moon!
I’ve seen some pretty amazing things so far, but I just could not wait to share some of the things I’ve bought in Italy.
We went on a trip to Burano, a tiny island off Venice, which is very famous for its lace work. I think most of it is actually tatting, and after seeing all those beautiful things, I really want to learn how to.
So I bought an owl bookmark, then I fell in love with a little lace fish, and of course, I had to get some Italian crochet cotton, in navy blue. I don’t quite know what I will make with it but hopefully something that will remind me of Venice and Burano.
Hi lovely people! Happy Friday!
I wanted to share progress on the Ravenclaw shield today, I’ve finished all the cross stitching with just the back stitch to finish before I can glue it on my robes! Yay!
Have a smashing weekend 😉
It is finished and has safely met his new owner! This pattern worked up very quickly and, although there were some mistakes on the pattern, it was easy to follow. I didn’t end up stuffing the front paws as I thought they looked better hanging down.
I gave him bright blue eyes to contrast with the dark grey fur and to match my goddaughter’s eyes 🙂
Have a good Wednesday!
With another month comes another SAL with Helene. This month was very interesting and made us travel once more, to the Great Lakes this time, for a beautiful sunset.
For once, the actual finished design was a rectangle and the backstitch made it pop all the more.
That’s it for now! Hope you all have a smashing weekend 😉
