Happy Wednesday readers!
I have taken back to my LOTR crochet along now that my ripple blanket is almost done (2 rows left, yay!). I have made a start on Gandalf’s pipe, and here is what it looks like so far.
I’ve also been baking today, I made a fresh batch of madeleines using my nana’s recipe and they were delicious!
It was actually quite funny because I was using fresh eggs that a friend brought over and the madeleines turned out so bright compared to usual! I even though something was wrong before I realised what was happening 😂
If you are interested with the recipe, I’ll post it next week, just let me know in the comments 😊
I have finished yet another square on my LOTR graphghan CAL. Gandalf the Grey is ready to save Middle Earth. You can find all my LOTR related posts by clicking on the LOTR CAL tab at the top of my blog or by following this link.
I still have 6 squares to go, and I’d really like to get finished by May to enter the finished blanket in a craft show! Better get hooking faster!
Have a great weekend!
Happy Wednesday crafters!
Like I said last week, my LOTR graphghan is a major WIP that I really hope to finish this year. I’ve been getting back into it but my major issue has been finishing the center square. Why on earth did I think that bobbles was a good idea? I love the look of it obviously but it is taking me forever and it’s been quite hard on my wrist. But I’m almost there and then I can start Saruman 🙂
To get some extra motivation, yesterday I decided to join the lovely people from the “Stitch and bitch Brisbane” and it was super great! Everyone was so nice, the projects looked amazing and I got that extra push to get that square finished (hopefully next week). If you’re interested, they are meeting up every Tuesday around 5-6 pm at the Fox hotel on Melbourne street.
Now, back to the bobbles!
Second last week of our LOTR crochet along! whoop-whoop!
This is the last corner square and you have the choice between Arwen’s pendant and the tree of Gondor!

It is time for week 6 of our LOTR crochet along! Today we have our first wizard, Saruman the white. He is holding his staff and the Palantir. Next week we will have Gandalf the grey join us. I have to admit I haven’t started Sam yet but I hope to start him over the week. I might not have too much time with my family arriving this week but I’ll try my best to post some pics of the work in progress 🙂

Have a great crafty week!
I’ve been finding keeping up with all the squares a bit hard lately, probably because of all the prep for the wedding 🙂
Also I really love the bobble stitch but it is super long to make!
Anyways, here is Frodo 🙂 now onto Sam!
I hope you guys have a great week!
I cannot believe that today is the first day of May already. We are now kicking off our second month of LOTR graphghans. As promised, today I will share with you Samwise Gamgee and Peregrin Took.
Again, because they are characters, they take quite a lot of yarn change.
Here is Sam, notice how he is a bit bigger than the other hobbits? Our Sam definitely likes his food!
And here is Pippin, with his typical scarf.

I wish you all an amazing week!
I’ve finished my Lothlorien leaf and am now working on the One ring for the LOTR crochet along (more on that later!)
I really enjoyed working on this smaller square, and it just felt so good to finish it. I’m completely in love with the bobble stitch, I just like everything about it: the look of it, the texture, the thickness of the finished piece etc.
I’ve also added a sc border all around the square in the background colour to be able to join the blocks together later.
I am still working on the design of a few squares but when I am done I will post the final layout so stay tuned 😉
