Hermione’s everyday socks – FO

Happy Monday lovely readers!

This weekend, the hubby and I have driven all the way from Brisbane in Queensland to Melbourne in Victoria to our new house! I’m very excited to be here finally, but I am also very excited that I got knitting and crochet time in the car!

Crochet-wise, I got some progress on my Swaye shawl (more on Wednesday) but I did manage to get a FO in knitting: my Hermione’s everyday socks!

I’m so excited about those socks, they are ultra soft, I adore the colours and the pattern. Really they are just a total winner! The pattern I used is a free pattern on Ravelry from Dreams in Fiber (Erica Lueder) and I am planning on trying out another of her patterns soon! I just love that a lot of them are inspired by Harry Potter!

And the yarn is from Fibre Revolution on Etsy, I just fell in love with all the colours they have, and you’ll be seeing a lot more of their yarn soon as I’ve got 6 skeins from my sock yarn club!

I hope you still had a great weekend and I wish you an amazing week

Happy Christmas!

Hi everyone!

This week and next week will be a bit crazy with Christmas and New Year. I probably won’t be posting until next year, although I’ll definitely be finishing the stitch stop and roll blanket (more on that in a few weeks).

Until then, I’d like to share with you my latest quick Christmas present.

To go with that, I have made a PDF of small patterns you can use if you want to make your own earrings.

A very happy Christmas to all of you!

Fan fiction inspiration

TGIF!

This week has been crazy! My husband was away and work was so busy but I’ve ‘discovered’ a new fun thing to do.

Now I know I’m actually rather late to the party but I’ve started reading Harry Potter fan fictions (because ❤️ Harry Potter) and especially ones with the very questionable (but so awesome) Draco/Hermione couple.

I have to say I am in love! And now I totally ship Dramione!

I got quite inspired from stories I’ve read so far and so I’ve done a bit of drawing.

Those are just outlines of the characters (I do want to draw them with more interaction but I need to make sure I know how I want them to be first).

And then I’ve drawn this, which I’m actually quite fond of.

(In case you wonder, Punksalad is my deviant art ID 😉)

Let me know what you think and have a great weekend! I’ll be working hard on that table center and hopefully finish it 🙂

Ready at last

Hello lovely readers!

I have finally completed my robes for Hogwarts, and just in time as well for my visit of the Warner Bros. studios on Monday. I really could not be more excited!

Forgive me for the poor quality of the pictures, I have been struggling with finding enough light.

Since last time, a few adjustments were made. I have added, of course, the crest but also a button and elastic band to keep the robes closed. I have also finished binding the sleeves properly and I have finished sewing the blue lining in place.

I’m very happy with how the crest turned out, the back stitching just makes a huge difference. To attach it, I used fabric glue to hold it in place and then whipped stitched all the border. It seems pretty solid but I guess only time will tell!

I hope you had a great week!

Ravenclaw Shield

Hi lovely people! Happy Friday!

I wanted to share progress on the Ravenclaw shield today, I’ve finished all the cross stitching with just the back stitch to finish before I can glue it on my robes! Yay!

Have a smashing weekend 😉

Harry Potter frenzy!

Happy Friday lovely readers!

I will soon be visiting the UK and while we are there we have planned a visit of the Harry Potter theme park. As you may know, I’m a HUGE Hp fan, so, in the spirit of my upcoming trip, I have made a few preparations.

First off, I finished my Hogwarts robes, which I made for our Harry Potter Halloween party last year. I took this test to know which house I belonged to, and I got Ravenclaw!

The robes were wearable for Halloween but I wanted to improve them a bit, so I put binding on the sleeves and I added a button and some elastic band to close it off. I also needed my house crest so I started stitching it on 14 count aida, using this graph found on Pinterest.

I changed up the colours a bit and this is where I’m at.

I also acquired some Hogwarts book as you can see, just to be ready for when I finally go there (after all, I’m a Ravenclaw and we like to read ahead!).
I also made up this layout for an embroidery project I have in mind.

I used a bunch of HP related symbols and phrases and put them all in a heart. Oh, and did I mention I LOVE Harry Potter yet?

Now, back to stitching, I haven’t yet found a way to enchant my needle to work on its own.

Amigurumi doll

My timing has been all wrong this week, but I’ve been working on this amigurumi doll. I’ve finished the head and body, and I put some hair in, I really like how it turned out 😊

Also I forgot to post the Harry Potter wands I made for our Halloween party.
  Have a lovely week!

Happy Halloween!

Our first Halloween at our house went great! We had our first trick-or-treaters, and I must say they were very brave to climb all the way to our house (we have a really steep driveway).

Our party was really fun, we got to eat a lot (too many?) of lollies and I tried a great recipe for dragon eggs and pumpkin juice.

HP themed house 🙂 was super fun to make

I wish you all a happy Halloween!

I got accepted to Hogwarts!

I really wish! I’m a little obsessed with Harry Potter (I may or may not have read book 4 over 20 times) and my Halloween costumes are coming along nicely. I have almost finished my robes and I need to add the coloured fabric to my fiancé’s one.

This is my first big sewing project and I feel like I’ve already made so much progress. I had to re-adjust my sleeves because the shoulders were too low but I’m happy with how it turned out.

Excuse my tired face, it’s been a long day 😁

I’ve also started yet another amigurumi project. I am making a doll that I can crochet cool clothes for. I’m thinking of gifting it to one of my little cousin and hope she will have heaps of fun with it.

so far, I have the head and the top part of the body

This hopefully will also help me de-stash.

That’s it for my Wednesday WIP update! Until next time 😎

😘 X
