Happy Saturday everyone!
Like every month, I’m participating in the Fantastic Bake Along hosted by Tracy @itsatsweetday. This month, Kate is our star baker and she has chosen sugar cookies! Now it feels like every month the chosen item to bake is made just for me, as I was just thinking I would love to try to make some of those with nice coloured icing, how perfect?
The recipe is super easy to make, and if you’ve made shortbread before you will know exactly what consistency the dough should have, which makes it even easier! The cookies were done in no time and in the oven for 20 min before they came out.
Now, the fun part could begin! I made icing using this recipe and it worked great (but I doubled the amount of milk in the recipe from 2 tsp to 4 tsp, and didn’t use almond extract). A few colours later, and I had an amazing plate of cookies! YUM!
I felt so proud of myself, now I know I will be baking more of those, especially around Halloween and Christmas, I just need to buy more cookie cutters! On another note, I don’t know if you’ve ever watched a show called “Nailed it” but I feel like it’s something every home baker should watch, it’s hilarious! So for this time I can safely say that I “nailed it!”
If you are interested in participating, contact Tracy and you can also follow my Pinterest board where I will be adding all the recipes for the Bake Along.
