Happy Monday readers!
First, I’d like to thank everyone for your lovely comments and suggestions on buying yarn online. I’ve followed the advice that a few of you gave me and placed an order with Wool Warehouse, and I got Scheepjes Catona in a few different colours (I will post a picture when my squishy parcel arrives).
Like I said last week, I’ve got this shawl idea stuck in my head for a little while now and I have finally started on making some swatches for the different stitches I want to use.
The top picture is the star stitch, it took me a little while to figure it out but I ended up getting it after watching this tutorial from the Crochet Crowd.Β On the bottom right is some kind of net stitch worked up in triangles (I’m still a bit unsure about this one) and on the bottom left is a shell stitch. I had to try this one a few times as I wanted to include a decrease in the pattern with the same slope as decreasing the net or the star stitches. I have also re-done a starfish in filet crochet and I really like this version so it will be the one I keep. And last but not least I have made this little fishy using tapestry crochet.
I’m really liking how all the elements are turning out, now I just hope that when my yarn arrives and I start crocheting, everything comes together well, but only time will tell π
I wish you all a great week!
Can’t wait to hear your opinion on your new wool. I’m sure it will be beautiful and your idea will all come together.

That is what I love most about crochet – the most complicated looking things are actually just a combination of easy stitches. I will definitely be checking this out. Yaaaaay youtube!!! π
