Happy Monday readers!
First, I’d like to thank everyone for your lovely comments and suggestions on buying yarn online. I’ve followed the advice that a few of you gave me and placed an order with Wool Warehouse, and I got Scheepjes Catona in a few different colours (I will post a picture when my squishy parcel arrives).
Like I said last week, I’ve got this shawl idea stuck in my head for a little while now and I have finally started on making some swatches for the different stitches I want to use.
The top picture is the star stitch, it took me a little while to figure it out but I ended up getting it after watching this tutorial from the Crochet Crowd. On the bottom right is some kind of net stitch worked up in triangles (I’m still a bit unsure about this one) and on the bottom left is a shell stitch. I had to try this one a few times as I wanted to include a decrease in the pattern with the same slope as decreasing the net or the star stitches. I have also re-done a starfish in filet crochet and I really like this version so it will be the one I keep. And last but not least I have made this little fishy using tapestry crochet.
I’m really liking how all the elements are turning out, now I just hope that when my yarn arrives and I start crocheting, everything comes together well, but only time will tell 😊
I wish you all a great week!
I finally finished my crochet clutch today.
As a bonus, it also perfectly fits my iPad 😊
I learnt a lot while doing this project, especially not to tighten my stitches too much!
Have a great week lovely people!
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend full of relaxing crafting time. I thought I’d start my week by sharing some of my WIP.
I have almost finished one side of my tapestry crochet clutch. I’ve been pretty inconsistent though with my tension so I’ll definitely need to block it but I’m not too familiar with the technique. Do you guys have tips for a successful blocking?
I also dug up this blanket I was working on ages ago. I’d like to make it way bigger but I couldn’t really find the motivation. Do you have any tricks to get back on track with old projects?
Hi crafters! Today I’d like to share some of my latest projects. A crocheted clutch using tapestry crochet (when you carry on the yarn inside your work so both sides look the same) and a volcano-like terrain for the model game I play (Warhammer anyone?). I’m pretty excited about this last one because it’s the first time I’m doing this and I find it pretty awesome!
4 colours clutch with leather flap. Crochet hook size 4 using double knit yarn.
2ftx2ft board for Warhammer 40k. Volcano in the center with 3 smaller islands. Made out of recycled polystyrene.
So stay tuned for more pictures (hopefully when they are finished!)
