WIP Wednesday – Read between the lines

Happy Wednesday everyone, and happy Valentine’s day!

I hope you spent a great day with loved ones and that you had an amazing time. I have been super busy, similarly to last week and also super tired (12h work days will do that to you!) but I still managed to get some knitting done. I think I mentioned recently that I started the Read between the lines shawl (RBTL for short) and I’m absolutely loving it! It’s my first time doing illusion knitting and I’ve been enjoying it so much. The pattern is worked in horizontal stripes but the illusion makes it look as if the stripes are vertical, neat right?

The pattern asks for Scheepjes whirls but I had two Illusion Cakes from Lincraft (one of Australia’s main craft stores) so I just used those. I’m loving the colours so far, I think the final shawl will be quite muted but in a good way and will hopefully go with a lot of my clothes. There is also a crochet version of this pattern available for the non-knitters and I’ve seen some amazing versions on Instagram!

I’d love to know if you are making one of those shawls, I really enjoy seeing all the beautiful colour combinations!

Again I wish you all had a great Valentine’s day ❤

  3. Happy Valentine’s Day to you too. Great work on the shawl and the colours you decided on. I think the finished shawl will look amazing when worn, as the lines will appear differently each time you move and it is seen from another angle. Just stunning. 🙂
