Happy Wednesday readers!
I’ll keep today’s post short and sweet, I’ve been mostly working on socks as you may have guessed! Also I received some AMAZING yarn that I got from Fibre Revolution. Carmela is a Brisbane local, and her hand dyed yarn is just so pretty! I got two colours on her sock base, Sea Foam (left) and Aqua Girl (right).
How amazing right? I’ve started another pair of socks straight away with Aqua Girl and I’m using the Sock it to me pattern from Yarnspirations.
I am so in love with the colours, especially all the speckles, they are the best! Also the yarn is so soft and it’s been so nice to work with! Did I mention I started tonight? And fear not, I have not forgotten my Mercury socks, I have actually finished the first one on Saturday, so it took me less than a week to make one, I’m so please with myself ☺️
The fit is perfect and I love how the colours change.
That’s it for today, I hope you guys are all having a great week (I’ve been marking exams and I can tell you I’ve been having a good laugh with some of the answers!)
It is growing!
I’ve gone through one whole set of colours already only that much more to go! 🙂
Can’t wait to start the cal in January!
Good evening crafters!
My nana is really awesome and sent me a package full of goodies 🙂 I got a new cooking book but what I’m most excited about is the old craft magazines she sent.
This is the one I’m using at the moment. I’m working on my lace skills 🙂 this will be a Christmas present.
I have also finished the top of Mr. Jelly 2. Almost finished this present!
Last thing, I treated myself to an early Christmas present from yarnspirations. I got the Stitch, Stop and Roll CAL kit in the Ocean Breeze colours. The CAL is starting in January and I’m very excited about following a CAL at the same time as a lot of other people 😊
Hope the beginning of your week was exciting too.
That’s it! My mystery afghan is complete! I was unsure if I would like it at some point during the CAL but now it’s finished I absolutely love it!
Now that it is starting to get warmer, I will move on to more cross stitch. I have started this week my first Pokemon on my Poke-alphabet and here it is so far!
A is for Alakazam
I haven’t quite finished the pattern either so I’ll post that when I’m done and I’ll give updates on Fridays 😊
Have a lovely weekend
After many adventures this week to get the right yarn, I finally got week 9 completed!
I knew I was going to run out of my contrast B, so last week I went to the shops and got what I thought was an extra skein of contrast B. Turns out I got the wrong colour!
right colour on the right is a whole shade darker
So I had to go back to the city to get a new skein today.
And I just finished week 9!
really like the bobble stitch row of the border!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
Happy Friday everyone!
I am glad that this week is over, it has been just exhausting! I still found some time to finish week 1 of the Mystery Afghan yarnspirations CAL. The step was pretty simple, just had to crochet 20 granny squares.
And here they are!
I’m currently blocking them so they all have the same shape and size. I’ve been pretty inconsistent but hey! that’s what blocking is for!
Here are most of them (some are still at the blocking stage)
This was actually the first time I tried blocking crochet and it worked super well! I was very glad I tried it, it made all my squares perfectly the same shape and size. Also those are the 4 colours I have chosen for this CAL.
From top to bottom: Colour A: Claret, B: Fuchsia, C: Nude and D: Bone.
I’m thinking the afghan won’t be very big with only 20 squares and I’m a bit worried I won’t be able to use it to warm up in front of the TV. Has anyone already completed this CAL and could tell me how big it is once finished? I might just double the number of squares.
Now onto week 2! Stay tuned for next week’s progress 😉
