FO Friday – Crochet Dolls

Happy Friday lovely readers!

I have had a busy week, started another WIP (seems like I can’t help myself!) which I’m super excited about, but today I want to show you my second crochet doll! They have been sent away on Monday to their new house and they should arrive next week, I’m super excited for my friend to receive them 😊

Here is my second doll, along with Candice, please meet Alizée!

And because they are girlfriends in real life, I though I would do a little photoshop magic and show their love

Aren’t they cute together? I had lots of fun making them and making their clothes, and now I’m really looking forward making a mini-me using Edward’s Doll Emporium! But first, I have a few WIPs to finish 😂

Have a great weekend!

FO Friday – Candice Doll (and free pattern for shorts)

Happy Friday my lovely readers!

Today I want to show you the newest addition to my amigurumi family: a cute little dolly!

This doll is quite special though as it represents one of my good friends. She asked me for that doll as well as another one of her girlfriend (who is also one of my close friends). The goal is to finish them by next week and send them to their new owners in France.

I was very excited by that project as I think they will make very special gifts. I absolutely love how Candice turned out too! The pattern is from the very talented MaryJ Handmade/Le Arti Di Minerva on Ravelry. It’s a free pattern and there are no instruction for the assembly but if you are familiar with amigurumi it’s not too bad! I actually sew the head close and then added the body (worked continuously from the legs) and I didn’t stuff the arms.

For the hair, I used a hair cap, following the same pattern as for the head but with a hook size above (from a 3.5 to a 4) and stopping after row 14.

I also had to make up the clothes as I went and I wrote the pattern for the shorts. I thought I would share it here with you guys if you want to make your own doll 😊

Abbreviations

  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • sl st – slip stitch

Round 1 – Ch26, sl st in first ch

Rounds 2-6 – 26 sc around

Start on the first leg, you will work only with the next 13 stitches

Round 7-9 (leg 1) – 13 sc around

Fasten off and join yarn to the remaining 13 stitches

Round 7-9 (leg 2) – 13 sc around

Fasten off. Sew the tails in and you’re finished!

I hope you guys enjoyed the pattern, please tag me on instagram if you end up sharing your pictures @emmacraftsdesign

Have a great weekend!

On Star Wars Day, crochet you should

Happy Friday!

In honour of Star Wars Day yesterday, I finally gave a go to the Star Wars Crochet kit I received for Christmas.

IMG_5414

The kit comes with enough yarn to make Master Yoda and a stormtrooper, and I set out to make Yoda. I have to say that although the yarn was a bit splittey, it was the perfect colour and the pattern was great too. My Yoda turned out super cute!

His little coat is completely removable, and I think that he went very well with the Yoda shirt I wore for Star Wars Day. Maybe you can tell, but Master Yoda is actually my favourite Star Wars character 🙂

I really want to make all of the characters, but first, I have a blanket to finish!

Have a great weekend!

A proper introduction is in order!

Happy Wednesday lovely readers!

I would like to properly introduce you to Sadie, my amigurumi doll. Thanks again to Cheyanne and Alexa for their names suggestions, I really liked Chloe but Saddie just really grew on me and so that’s the name I chose for her 🙂

She now has her very own 2 legs and I made her some cute red shorts (her fave colour).

If anyone has a pattern for a tank top or shirt for her, that would be awesome 🙂

On another note, I was thinking about hosting a Lord Of The Rings crochet a-long, I’ve started designing a few squares (which I will probably end up making anyway, I really want to try a bobble stitch graphghan!) but let me know if you guys would be interested in joining up with me, I’ll put the graphs here 🙂

February goals review

Hello readers!

It is the end of the month, and I can’t believe how fast it went.

I’m pleased to say that I have finished most of my goals for the month!

I haven’t quite finished to read the fellowship of the ring but I’ll get that done tonight! My only non done goal is for work, I’ve had some delays so hopefully I can get that done in March.

Now, onto the avatar afghan! I’ve decided not to do a border for now cause I haven’t quite made up my mind on what kind of border I want. But other than that it is finished!

And these are my steps for the February SAL from Helene

Also I’ve decided to go with Sadie for my little doll, she is still missing a leg but I hope to get that done this week

And that’s it for my February! Bring it on March!

X
