I know, it’s the end of June, but I’ve only just finished my May mystery stitch along from Hélène et Mahélia. I think that I’ve been so cold when I was down in Melbourne that I haven’t been motivated to cross stitch much but I really want to get back to it, because I just really love this year’s designs 😊
May was birds again, and just look at them, they are adorable!
I still need to finish off the April one and obviously do this one as well, I might get them done over the weekend.
In other random news, today was Dobby the house elf’s birthday apparently, and so I wore two different socks (mostly cause I couldn’t find my second grey sock from the washing 😂). I thought some of you who are as obsessed with Harry Potter as me might enjoy the gesture 😁
Happy Monday lovely readers!
This weekend I had some prime craft time while watching the Harry Potter movies 😊 I have been having yarn everywhere though lately and so I decided to make myself a new project bag to keep all my yarn in. I made it using calico and it’s actually pretty huge! I even put in a zipper and I was very please with how it turned out (excuse the wrinkledness, I still haven’t found my iron!)
You have probably noticed as well the red patch on the bag? Because the fabric is calico, I thought it would be cool to have a long term project to decorate the bag with cross stitch, and so I’ve made a start on this cute little star fish! I just love how tiny the stitches are and I’m sure it will look great once I’ve done more around it too.
And lastly, I just wanted to show you what’s currently in the bag! My Blurre shawl from Addydae Designs 😍 I love everything about this shawl and I can’t wait to finish it, hopefully before the 30th of June so that I can enter it in the CAL!
What have you guys been working on lately? Do you have project bags to keep your crafting area tidy(er)?
TGIF! And I am on mini holidays too for a week 😊
My hubby and I are going to spend a week in Melbourne (in Australia, not the US!) where he will start working towards the end of the year. I’ve never been there but I’m really excited as I got told that the food and coffee down there is amazing! I’m also pretty excited because they have real winters and I will be able to crochet and knit heaps of wearable things once we move there. If you have been to Melbourne or live there, do you guys have any suggestions for good yarn shops? I might as well go and visit a few!
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick recap for May. I actually did not finish many things in May but the ones I finished were pretty big (except for Yoda, he is tiny)!
I think that starting and finishing a blanket in a month (actually more like 3 weeks) is a record for me, I’ve never done a blanket that fast! The cross stitch was also the longest of the year, look at all this beigy/brown! And I even got some sewing done, talk about multi crafting 😂 I also tested a great bikini top pattern from Oceans Originals but I can’t show you anything yet, patience!
I also dug out a few projects and I am working hard to get those finished in June!
I’m actually not sure why I’m doing so much needlework considering it’s winter! What I am thinking, I wonder?
I also did some baking in May, and I participated in my first Fantastic Bake Along! It was great and I can’t wait for the June one.
So, my plan for June is to finish knitting my socks, hopefully find some time to read more (maybe on the plane) and get back on track for my LOTR blanket.
What have you been up to during May? Do you also have a huge list of projects you’d like to start/continue/finish in June?
Have a great weekend!
Happy Wednesday crafters!
I hope you’re all having a great week! I have made more progress this month on my Joyful World from the Snowflower Diaries.
I have pretty much done all the greenery and I need to add the critters for this month, a couple of cats in the middle and a dove on one the branches.
This is what the rest looks like as a reminder 😊
Have a great rest of the week (and no, my yarn still hasn’t arrived 😢)
Hello lovely readers!
Making a bag for my hubby earlier this week made me want to start a bag for myself, probably a project bag actually. I was rummaging through my fabric bag and found this piece, which had been abandonned for at least 2 years!
It was time to add some friends and I will turn it into the front pannel of my new bag once I finish embroidering them all!
On the top right corner, I added the japanese symbol for water. I’m going with a water pokemon theme too (they’re my favourite!) Have a great weekend!
I am very late this month for the SAL I participate in, over at Helene et Mahalia. But I finally finished! yay! I’m probably going to get straight onto May and finally catch up by the end of the month (it should be easier too once the ripple blanket is finished).
Anyway, here it is! It’s super cute as usual, and this last month was a mama bear and her cub 🙂 so lovely!
I will turn this into another ornament for my collection 🙂

Happy Friday lovely readers!
What a week! And I can’t believe it’s already the end of April, which means that a third of the year has already gone by. I thought that this called for a roundup on my year so far. I have been bad and actually have more wips than when I started the year, with only one project that I finished from my previous wips 🙊 oh well!
So currently I have 4 big projects on my hooks, with one other (it’s a secret!) to be added this weekend (but hopefully a finish as well!)
- The LOTR blanket, which I haven’t touched in a week
- My Mandala Madness, which I haven’t touched either in some time (but I’m planning on doing some over the weekend)
- My virus shawl, I’m actually doing well on this, I’m mostly hooking it on the car when it’s not my day to drive (we alternate with my husband)
- The beautiful shells baby blanket, which I absolutely need to finish by Sunday (no pressure!)
Then on my hoops I have only two projects, but one is actually an ongoing thing over the year
And I also have socks to knit!
Thankfully I also had plenty of finished projects in the last 4 months, here are the photos to prove it!
I wish you all a beautiful weekend, here we have Monday off for Labour day and you know what that means: more crochet time for me! Yay!
Hello lovely readers!
We are planning on moving next week so our house is starting to get packed. This means I had to get some of my craft supplies sorted, especially the bigillion embroidery threads that got passed on to me. And the beads! So many beads…
Most of those will go into boxes but I’m keeping enough threads to work on my joyful world SAL from the Snowflower Diaries.
This is where it was at last time.
And now I’ve almost finished April, with only the ground to finish stitching.
And here is all the stitching I’ve done so far, just to remind you (and me) 😊
Now, back to packing a few things before bed!
Once again I am joining in Helene’s Stitch along on her blog Helene et Mahelia.
This month’s design is another forest critter, a little robin! This month was super quick to stitch, and I turned this birdie into another cute ornament.
Have a great weekend!

Happy Monday crafters!
For my 200 followers giveaway a few weeks back, I made a bookmark using a new pattern that I created. I had this idea floating in my head for a little while and I decided to just go with it! The pattern has 2 fish and a lily pad, and made me think of a fish pond (hence, the name of this pattern!). You may know that I really like fish (and all marine creatures in general), and I was so happy of the way they turned out that I also had to made myself a little stitch marker using the same pattern.
If you would also like to make this, the pattern is available on my Etsy. I don’t have much listed there yet, but I’m working on improving some patterns and making new ones, so be patient with me 🙂
I’d love to know if you have suggestions for patterns, either for cross stitch or crochet.
