Happy Monday lovely readers!
This weekend I had some prime craft time while watching the Harry Potter movies 😊 I have been having yarn everywhere though lately and so I decided to make myself a new project bag to keep all my yarn in. I made it using calico and it’s actually pretty huge! I even put in a zipper and I was very please with how it turned out (excuse the wrinkledness, I still haven’t found my iron!)
You have probably noticed as well the red patch on the bag? Because the fabric is calico, I thought it would be cool to have a long term project to decorate the bag with cross stitch, and so I’ve made a start on this cute little star fish! I just love how tiny the stitches are and I’m sure it will look great once I’ve done more around it too.
And lastly, I just wanted to show you what’s currently in the bag! My Blurre shawl from Addydae Designs 😍 I love everything about this shawl and I can’t wait to finish it, hopefully before the 30th of June so that I can enter it in the CAL!
What have you guys been working on lately? Do you have project bags to keep your crafting area tidy(er)?
Happy Monday lovely people ❤️
I hope you all had a fab weekend, we came back from our trip down to Melbourne and today was back to work. I have been trying to catch up with all of your wonderful blogs but I have to say that today was really busy so hopefully I will get more time during the week to do this 😊
I don’t know if it’s because the weather has been so much colder or because I’ve been trying to be a bit more active on Instagram, but I’m just feeling so inspired right now, I just want to make all the things!
I’ve been working quite a lot on my virus shawl over my mini holidays and I have made it to the second skein of Holst Garn Coast. Yay!
This colour is called Marlin and I just love it! because the shawl is getting so much bigger, I think I’ll only be able to get two or three more pattern repeats with this colour, and then I still have my third blue to add.
I have also recently stumbled on the Blurre shawl from Addydae Designs. I LOVE it! It’s just so clever how the colours blend into each other to form this really cool effect. I had to make it! I’m using some Schoppel yarn I bought in Amsterdam last year and the leftovers from my socks for this. This is where I’m at so far and I think it looks like a sunset, so pretty! 😍
If you want to make your own Blurre, Deanne (the designer) is hosting a CAL on her Ravelry that will run until the 30th of June, so you still have time to join if you want to 🙂
That’s it for me for today, I wish you all a great week and I’ll be back on Wednesday with some sock WIP!
Happy Wednesday readers!
I have taken back to my LOTR crochet along now that my ripple blanket is almost done (2 rows left, yay!). I have made a start on Gandalf’s pipe, and here is what it looks like so far.
I’ve also been baking today, I made a fresh batch of madeleines using my nana’s recipe and they were delicious!
It was actually quite funny because I was using fresh eggs that a friend brought over and the madeleines turned out so bright compared to usual! I even though something was wrong before I realised what was happening 😂
If you are interested with the recipe, I’ll post it next week, just let me know in the comments 😊
Hello lovely readers!
Today was Good Friday, which meant no work and more crochet time! I’ve finished the PDF pattern for Arno the Escargot, and you can find it in my Ravelry shop. I’ve also started a few new projects, which I’ll talk about next week.
But what I was most happy about is that I’ve finished another LOTR square!
Here comes the Witch King of Angmar, with mace and all!
I was really happy to finish this one, I got super frustrated when I started as I knew I wouldn’t have enough yarn for the background, so I went back to spotlight to try to get the same colour and I could not find it at all. So I got another purple and decided to split the background in half. I didn’t know if I would like it but I think it ended up looking quite good! Only 5 more squares to go!
Have a great Easter 😊
I have finished yet another square on my LOTR graphghan CAL. Gandalf the Grey is ready to save Middle Earth. You can find all my LOTR related posts by clicking on the LOTR CAL tab at the top of my blog or by following this link.
I still have 6 squares to go, and I’d really like to get finished by May to enter the finished blanket in a craft show! Better get hooking faster!
Have a great weekend!
Yes, you read the title right! I’ve taken back my mandala madness! I am starting step 4 (I have done 2 row in red already) and I’m hoping to grow it more in the next few months.
I’m using scraps for this, so the colours are a bit random but I really like it so far. I have lots of blues and greys left over so it will likely grow in those colours in the next few rounds 🙂 I’m really looking forward to blocking this at the end, as I think it will really bring all the details out.
See you all on Friday for the giveaway winner announcement!
I’ve made some more progress on my lord of the rings afghan, and today I’ve finished Saruman the white, with his staff and palantir.
I only just registered that I’m more than half way through with this, so hopefully I can still stick with my personal deadline of finishing the whole blanket by May. Next will be Gandalf the grey 🙂
Have a great week!
I hope you had a great time last week, the break was very welcome for me. We did heaps of stuff with my brother and his friend and I’ll post some pictures on Wednesday. I also (surprisingly considering how busy we were) managed to get some crafting done!
I have finally finished the centre square for the Lord of the Rings graphghan! yay! I’ve made the maths, there are 3,600 bobbles in here, crazy!
Hopefully, the rest of the squares will go fast compared to this. I’ve already started Sauron and I really hope to have him done next week.
Have a wonderful week!
Happy Wednesday crafters!
Like I said last week, my LOTR graphghan is a major WIP that I really hope to finish this year. I’ve been getting back into it but my major issue has been finishing the center square. Why on earth did I think that bobbles was a good idea? I love the look of it obviously but it is taking me forever and it’s been quite hard on my wrist. But I’m almost there and then I can start Saruman 🙂
To get some extra motivation, yesterday I decided to join the lovely people from the “Stitch and bitch Brisbane” and it was super great! Everyone was so nice, the projects looked amazing and I got that extra push to get that square finished (hopefully next week). If you’re interested, they are meeting up every Tuesday around 5-6 pm at the Fox hotel on Melbourne street.
Now, back to the bobbles!
Happy New Year guys!
I hope you all had great holidays and that you had fun times with your loved ones.
I had a great week with my mum and I finished the stitch stop and roll blanket for her.
With the leftover yarn, I also made a ripple stitch lapghan for my dad.
They go so well together and will be lovely for the rest of winter back in France.
Again have a very happy new year!
