My 2017 Bullet journal

Happy Friday!

I am pleased to say that I have kept my bullet journal for the whole year last year, which helped a lot with work and with my personal goals. This year, I wanted to make my journal look better (last year’s was very functional but the looks of it were meh). I’ve chosen a simple layout that I will (hopefully!) be able to stick with, and have time to prepare from week to week.

As you can see, I have a monthly and a weeklyย layout, with enough space to write tasks for each day. I have also added a weather, daily water intake and meal planning features for the week. I’ve been keeping a close watch to my drinking, because I work in a lab and sometimes I just spend the whole day in there without drinking (which obviously is no good).

I’ve also added some yearly goal pages.

There is a yearly layout, a birthday wheel, books (my goal is 30 books for 2017, I’ve even set up a profile on Goodreads!), movies and craft lists, and I’ve added a map of the world with all the countries I’ve visited in red and my planned trips on the right. I will be going to Belfast for a conference before visiting my parents and then (hopefully, if we have enough money) hubby and I are planning to visit Japan ๐Ÿ™‚

Should be fun!

What have you planned for 2017?

Miss Caly’s 7 days of lists – days 5 to 7ย

Happy Wednesday readers!

Today I managed to finish the 3 last lists prompts from Miss Caly. I found the lists from day 5 and 6 a bit more challenging. Day 5 was about listing 20 of our fears and I guess no one really likes to dwell on what scares us. I am no different and it was hard to think about  what things I am truly afraid of. It was a great exercise though as I realise that in some situations I tend to get nervous or even angry when in fact I am just afraid.

#5 – 20 of my greatest fears

List 6 was even more challenging. I think I usually never really take the time to appreciate all the small achievements in life and it was hard to come up with 20 things that I was truly proud of achieving. I actually asked for some help from my other half for this one ๐Ÿ™‚

#6 – 20 of my greatest achievements

And finally day 7 was fun to write and I hope you guys get to know me a little better from it.

#7 – 20 weird and wonderful facts about me

I wish you all a great end to the week

Miss Caly’s 7 days of lists – day 1 to 4

Happy Friday!

Time has been going crazy fast so I didn’t get much time to add to my mandala. I have been following the prompts from Miss Caly’s blog though and I have come up with 4 days of lists so far ๐Ÿ™‚

It was also a good excuse to use my pretty fine tips markers!

So here we go!

#1 – 20 things that make me happy
#2 – 20 places I want to visit

  #3 – 20 people who inspire me

#4 – 20 things I’d like to learn more about

Maybe you have noticed, but I wrote those lists in my bullet journal, to keep me inspired and add a bit of extra colour to it ๐Ÿ˜Š

And that’s it for today! I wish you all a great weekend ๐Ÿ˜˜

February goals review

Hello readers!

It is the end of the month, and I can’t believe how fast it went.

I’m pleased to say that I have finished most of my goals for the month!

I haven’t quite finished to read the fellowship of the ring but I’ll get that done tonight! My only non done goal is for work, I’ve had some delays so hopefully I can get that done in March.

Now, onto the avatar afghan! I’ve decided not to do a border for now cause I haven’t quite made up my mind on what kind of border I want. But other than that it is finished!

And these are my steps for the February SAL from Helene

Also I’ve decided to go with Sadie for my little doll, she is still missing a leg but I hope to get that done this week

And that’s it for my February! Bring it on March!

Bullet journal and project update

Hi guys!

I’m pretty excited, I’ve finally reached the half way point for my avatar afghan!

My goal is to finish it by the end of the month. Talking about goals, I just realise that I didn’t post a goal update for February and I didn’t show you my bullet journal and how it has grown!

I’ve resumed my online coding course and made a handy  guide to coding in processing J.
I doodled a mandala that still needs colouring.

I have a new goals list for February, including to list more cross stitch patterns in my new etsy shop! (It’s pretty bare at the moment but you can still check it out here – opening discount will be on soon ^^)

And I’ve ticked off movies on my “to watch” list ๐Ÿ™‚

Have you guys updated your goals list for this month?

Wips and doodlesย

Happy Monday!

I hope you guys had a good weekend! I’ve been a busy bee, we got a lot of things done for our upcoming wedding (got our wedding bands and booked cake tasting for next week and the DJ).

I’ve also been inspired to draw more lately. Yesterday I tried my new ink pen (I got it for Christmas but didn’t get ink until yesterday).

As you can see my bullet journal is going pretty good, I’ll do a review about it at the beginning of February.
I got some inspiration as well from the Warhammer 40k universe.

This is my take on a nurgling. Nurglings are lesser demons under the command of the Chaos God of life and death, Nurgle. I’m thinking of turning him into a cross stitch pattern, I think he is rather cute!

As for my current wips, I have started an infinity cowl using the same yarn I used for my Drops Design slippers
I have also started the air symbol on my avatar afghan. At the moment it is going pretty slow (it takes me ages to do one row) but I have started watching “The legend of Korra” so I hope that will motivate me.

That’s it for today folks!

Organisation is key!

Is it just me, or the beginning of the year always makes you want to be more organised?

With such a big year coming up (wedding to prepare, Europe trip, hopefully a few more papers published) I felt like I needed extra help to get organised. I came accross the bullet journal concept. I thought I should give it a try. I had this cool game of thrones journal that I thought would be great for the job.
I really love that I can set up long term monthly goals but also more precise and reachable daily goals. I’ve also made a colour calendar, with a few things I want to work on everyday (like not biting my nails or practicing my Italian) it’s so nice to be able to visualise goals and it’s very satisfactory to draw a little cross when I’ve reached a goal (as small as it may be).

I have also been (once again) trying to de clutter my drawers (I own too many clothes it’s just ridiculous). Because some were not even wearable (mostly holes) I thought that instead of throwing them away I would do something creative and so I turned them into tshit yarn. Only a few more to go!

That’s it for today!

Hope you’re all having a great week ๐Ÿ™‚
