Hello everyone!
I did it! My EPP quilt top is finished! I’m feeling very proud of this accomplishment and I’ve even started quilting it (sorry I didn’t take any pictures of the start of the quilting but I will for next time).
I had lots of fun choosing the colour of the thread for the quilting and went with a yellow, as I think it will compliment the colours I have on the top quite well. It just started to get colder here as well so it’s nice to sit under the quilt and work on it in the evenings. I’m sorry that I still haven’t been back to regular posting but it would seem that life with a 6 months old is no calmer than life with a newborn!
Picture of Mr. Clark, who apparently has already learnt to read without me 😂
That looks amazing! And very fiddly, it must have taken so much work. Is that your first quilt?

Thank you Hannah! Yes it’s my first ever quilt top and first EPP too 😀 I’ve been loving every minute, but it did take a very long time (probably because I wasn’t working on it much some weeks). I think I’m addicted though, I’ll probably start another EPP project when this is quilted and binded

Yippee! What a great accomplishment, especially considering everything else you have gong on! How will you handle the irregular edges? Will you simply trim them with a straight edge when you’re done quilting?

Yay! it was very exciting to finish that top! I will trim the edges once the quilting is done, I though I would try to piece the sides but it turns out I can’t be bothered 😅 I think it will be fine with trimming though, at least it gives me some extra room for the quilting and I can worry about it later.

Lovely! You’ve done amazingly well considering the other demands on your time. But do be sure and show us the quilting when you get a bit further on!

Thank you Kate! You’ve been a huge inspiration to get me started on quilts and I think I definitely got the quilting bug ☺️ I have loved the quilting part, I’m not sure if it’s 100% how it’s meant to be done but it works so I’m happy with it! Pictures coming with the next HQAL instalment for sure 😊

Yippee!💃🏼 I can’t wait to see some of the quilting! I bet that will be easier to do with Mr. CLark. But now that he has taught himself to read, I’m sure quilting will be much easier!!😂

haha yes totally true, he will just sit there with his book while I quilt 😁 I’ve been really enjoying the hand quilting process, and I love how it looks too so can’t wait for next update to show you pictures!

Great achievement. I’m sure Mr Clark will help you with the quilting. He would appear to be a quick learner. Take care.

I was so surprised to see in the comments above that this was your first quilt. It is fantastic! It won’t be long and Mr. Clark will be reading out loud to you as you quilt. He’s adorable!
