Happy Wednesday everyone!
I have mentioned in my yearly goals that I would like to design more this year, and I’ve really been enjoying designing amigurumi so far. I have had an idea for a knitted shawl in my head since last week though, and so I’ve started on it using some super soft possum/merino/silk yarn I bought while in New-Zealand. The yarn is Zealana Kauri and it’s just amazing. I’ve been using my new interchangeable needles from Knitpro too, and I have to say that they are great, the transition from cable to needle is just so smooth. Anyway, the shawl is in three colours and I am doing a simple lace pattern with the green/mustardy colour.
I really love the overall effect, I’m hoping to have this finished by next week and I’m hoping that the blocking really makes the lace stand out đ I think it’s pretty good for my first ‘freestyle’ knitting project.
Have you ever designed a project on a whim? I’d love to know!
Lovely:)

I never would have chosen that color combination, but it works really well. I love it! It is going to be gorgeous when it is done. I think I need to move out of my comfort zone and play with color combinations more.

Thank you Bella, I just fell in love with the green and then I thought the greys would be good neutrals to go with it đ if you are interested in colour theory I would recommend you check the DingoDyeworks YouTube channel, the host Petah is amazing with colours đ

Your cowl looks so pretty, the colours really work together. đ I may use my possum yarn for a cowl too. đ

That’s a great idea, I’ve actually heard that possum yarn is super warm so it would be a good cowl material (although it’s still summer for both of us đ )

I am ready to google Ravelry this morning, as I have not put the yarn away, it is still on my dining room table. đ It is to pretty to not see it each time I pass there.
Thankfully still summer here, yes indeed, we are spoiled with good warm weather mostly. But also a good time to start thinking about winter goodies, if I get going soon enough it can be wearable by the colder weather days.
The yarn feels so much softer than the 100% merino, the possum definitely makes a fabulous difference.
Have a great weekend. đ
