Happy Saturday everyone!
Like every month, I’m participating in the Fantastic Bake Along hosted by Tracy @itsatsweetday.
This month is obviously a bit special as it is almost Christmas! Yay! Because of this, Tracy very kindly chose the recipe so that we didn’t have to think about it. Thanks Tracy! ❤️
The recipe for her cherry tarts can be found on her blog as usual and without further ado, here are mine!
I didn’t have shortenings so I used butter instead and I reduced the amount of water because the butter I used made the dough more moist already. I was worried I would be able to find pie filling but I did find pitted cherries in syrup and I’m pretty sure that’s what it was meant to be. Regardless, the tarts are amazingly good and they have been husband approved too! I hope you guys join us for the bake along, I always love reading your comments on recipes and seeing all your delicious food 😊
If you are interested in participating, contact Tracy and you can also follow my Pinterest board where I will be adding all the recipes for the Bake Along.

Way to go Emma!! Husband approved is the ultimate in a good recipe😊❤️!!! I like how uniform yours all look. Did you add the glaze or eat them warm out of the oven without it?

Thanks Tracy, using a cookie cutter really helped to keep them all the same! I actually did try to make the glaze but I think I must have done something wrong. Did you need to heat it? I’m not often making glazes or frosting so I wasn’t sure. They didn’t really need anything more though, perfect recipe on its own! ❤

No need to heat it. I wonder if the cup to gram change had anything to do with it?

Yes it’s definitely possible. I’ll try to make it again, I do have some cups around that I could use 🙂

One more suggestion—. Just place some confectioners sugar in a bowl and and add milk and a bit of vanilla until it is a thin consistency . It should be pourable. I hope this helps. Please let me know. Really, the icing totally makes these Tarts ❤️

Thanks AJ, yours look great too, I hope you didn’t have too much trouble making them stick with a gluten free flour

Yours look great!! What did you do for sealing yours? I had the darnedest time doing that on mine!!

I used a good old fork! lol just pressed the sides of the tarts with a slightly wet fork and it worked great 🙂

lol that’s what I used too, except mine wasn’t wet. maybe that would have worked better!! 🙂

I think that yours looked great too, but maybe your dough was a bit dryer than mine, so it didn’t seal as well? it’s a mystery!

They really were! Are you making some this month or is it too crazy with Christmas preparations?

I don’t know if I have time this month, Christmas has already started between my husband and my families! I am keeping this recipe, though, I think my family would love these!
