Hello lovely readers!
I hope you have all had a great weekend! Like I mentioned on Friday, I am super excited to join in the new Hand Quilt Along hosted by Kathy! For this HQAL, I will be working on my EPP. I had not worked on it for a while and this QAL is the perfect opportunity!
Here is where I was at last time I showed it to you.

And here is where I am at now!

So quite a bit of progress made, I bought quite a few new fabrics when I was in Europe with this quilt in mind. My plans are to hand quilt it too once I’ve finished the quilt top, using the sashiko technique.
This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.Β If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.
Here are the others participating in this HQAL, please go check their posts!
Oh, my–what a project! How big is the finished product? It’s going to be amazing!

Thank you! how much do you like sewing seams on your knitting? because ultimately it’s not much different π

Iβm sure that as long as you can do it, you should be fine learning π

Love the heart design, you’ve certainly got a lot more patience than me π

Thank you π I’m not really giving myself a dead-line, so who knows how long it will take me though π

Y work! I am just getting into quilting, and so far all my work has been on the machine. Iβm not sure I have the patience for hand quilting!

Thank you π Funnily, I haven’t done much machine quilting actually, I like being able to control my stitches on a fine scale π

Emma! I did my first EPP last year with the Splendid Sampler, and it is such a relaxing thing, and also perfect as a lunch time project. Do you have a size in mind for this quilt, or will just grow on its own, until you decide to stop? I am also curious about the pattern? Not the usual hexagon, which is very interesting!

It is super relaxing I have to say! I’m thinking a baby size for now, but it might grow bigger π I wanted something a bit different than hexes, and I really liked that those diamonds looked like little hearts together π

Oh, I hadn’t thought of that. I do have about 4 EPP projects at various stages! I like yours quite a lot and haven’t seen that configuration before. I might have to start a 5th project. LOL

EPP is really a lot of fun! I think that this configuration is very interesting too, and a bit different from the usual hexagon π I’d love to see if you start a project like this one!
